Screen Printing

Screen printing has advantages as it is known for crisp colors and is ideal for large print quantities. Because set-up costs are high, many companies require a minimum order quantity for screen printing. Every color that is laid down on the T-shirt requires a screen. The more colors, the more screens. The more screens, the more cost to set up the order.

How To Save Money On Screen Printing

1. Do not compromise on quality - always order 100% cotton, brand name, heavyweight t-shirts.

2. Limit the number of locations on the t-shirt. Additional screen and printing charges apply if you want to add additional locations.

3. Pick a company you can trust. Seek out a company that offers a wide range of custom apparel, screen printing and transfer technology t-shirt services. Look for real customer testimonials.

4. The More You Buy, The More You Save. Order in large quantities and your price per t-shirt can go down dramatically.

5. Limit the number of colors you wish to print. Fewer colors requires fewer screen set-ups and less time to print additional colors.

6. Order white or light colored t-shirts. T-shirt mills charge more for dark colors and printing on dark shirts often require printing a white "underlay" to avoid the dark t-shirt color bleeding through the design.

Transfer Technology

Transfer technology offers vibrant full color designs and photo quality prints. Designs are outputted on a laser printer and then heat imprinted on a t-shirt using a commercial heat press machine.

Transfer technology eliminates cost of screen set-up charges. However, depending on the quality of artwork received, artwork touch up is sometimes required to properly set up the job. Transfer technology requires no minimum order requirements. Be sure to send us a high resolution image (300 dpi or more) in order to get quality results.

Tips To Save Money On Transfer T-shirts

1. Many companies can not transfer on 100% cotton garments and use 50/50 t-shirts. Since most customers prefer high cotton content, use a company that has the necessary equipment and experience with these garments.

2. Limit the number of locations on the t-shirt. An additional printing charge applies to other locations (back, sleeves or front).

3. Do not compromise on quality - always order 100% cotton brand name heavyweight t-shirts.

4. Pick a T-shirt company you can trust. Seek out a company that offers a wide range of custom screen printed and transfer technology t-shirt services. Look for real customer testimonials.

Always begin by uploading your design

Using our upload feature, click and browse for your logo art. It is preferable to receive vector images such as Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Corel Draw (.cdr), and Illustrator (.eps) files. We will accept other formats like BMP, JPG, GIF, EMF, and WMF, but we highly recommend vector images. In case of difficulty you may email artwork as a file attachment.

Image Size & Resolution

Be aware that images cannot be printed larger than they come to us. Best results are obtained from images that are high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) and larger than the area you request them to be printed into. Images taken from web sites are not high-resolution and cannot be reproduced well on a T-shirt.

Additional Information

Please don't create your art in a word processing program! Such a design usually winds up having to be recreated almost from scratch in the correct program. It is unfortunate when someone spends a lot of time and effort creating a design, only to find out after it's finished that the design can not be used because it was created in the wrong program. A program like Microsoft Word comes with a good selection of clip art, and allows you to create graphics, shapes and text effects in many colors, but it is difficult (and often times impossible) to print color separations from word processing programs so you wind up with a design that looks great on your monitor, or prints out nicely on your ink jet printer, but is unusable as art for screenprinting. Also, please don't change the format of your design just to make it easier to email.

Artwork for transfer printing is affected by the shirt color. For example, on a yellow shirt a blue image will appear green after pressing (and a green image may be distorted blue). Additionally, the background of transfers will always be clear so white does not appear. All white areas of the design will print clear, thus revealing the color of the shirt. For example, if you have a blue shirt, white areas in the design will show the blue color of the shirt.

Having problems uploading the art ?

Some older browsers are not able to use our upload tool. You may send your artwork as a file attachment to Info@wintexindia.com. Your mail program will have instructions about file attachments.

If you do not have art you may use images from our Instant Imprinting Logos to build your design. These images will be reduced to three or fewer colors for imprinting application. You will need to supply us with the image number of the logo library graphic that you wish to use along with the font and layout of the text and design. A comments box is provided for that purpose at the personalization interface. (note: you will automatically land there after clicking on your selection from the imprint grids).

What method of imprinting will be used?

Package selections of less than 12 pieces, and three or fewer colors, will be imprinted using transfer technology.

Selections of 12 or more pieces, with three or less colors, will be screen printed.

If your art is a full color design then we will use digital copy transfer technologies to imprint your image on the quantity of light colored garments you choose. Pricing for full color transfers are the same as the one color designs on light garments. This application works best on white garments.

I don't see my quantity listed, or I need more than you have priced?

You are not limited to these pre-determined quantities. If the amount of pieces you want is in between the basic quantities on the grid, or if you need more than 1000 pieces, email or call us and we build a custom package for you.

How many colors are in my design?

Always upload your available art using our upload feature. Our staff will evaluate the art to be sure that you get the best application possible based on your needs. Count the colors in your design and find the corresponding column along the top line of the grid.

Do all the colors in the design count ?

For pricing purposes, we can consider some half-tones and solid colors as the same color, therefore counting as only one color on the grid. It is necessary for us to evaluate the art to be sure.

What if I want more than one print location? Our grid system allows for the pricing of more than one print location. The top row of the grid describes the possibilities. Listed are the most commonly ordered combinations, however space limitations do not allow for all combinations. If you require a combination not listed, email for help.

How long will it take ?

We ship orders within 7 business days (or as per in the table) of the date customer supplies adequate art for a paid order. Rush services are available.
